City of Aurora Southeast Area Maintenance (SEAM) Facility

The Southeast Maintenance Facility provides a unified campus for the City of Aurora’s Water Department along with a targeted maintenance service location for the rapidly expanding southeast metro area.

This campus will be home to more than 400 City of Aurora employees and serves as the operational hub for many of Aurora’s maintenance and operations crews. The 88-acre campus is comprised of four buildings supporting Aurora Water, Aurora Fleet and Fueling, and Aurora’s Southeast Maintenance divisions. The project will include administrative functions as well as operations and maintenance space including warehouse space, vehicle bays, welding/fabrication workshops, fueling station, and a water quality lab.

In Phase One, 44 acres were developed including over 1.5 miles of private roadway plus and an additional 1,000 linear feet of county-road lane expansions, totaling 9,000 linear feet of total paved roads. This development also included over five miles of utility access (gravel) road.

The linear feet of pipe off-site utilities consisted of 6.1 miles of sanitary sewer running through 14 different property owners, making this property location functional. The onsite utilities include:

• 11,000 linear feet of storm
• 4,100 linear feet of sanitary
• 5,600 linear feet water main
• 4,300 linear feet of electrical main

The scope of work also covered moving over 900,000 cubic yards of dirt on and off-site. The total hardscape laid was approximately 22.75 acres, almost one million square feet. This was made up of 16.2 acres (705,750 square feet) of asphalt and 6.52 acres (284,000 square feet) of concrete.

The project also includes a photovoltaic solar array totaling over 978kW of power generation.
